Highlands Great Danes

"Our Guarantee"

We offer a 2 year health guarantee with all of our puppies against genetic problems. You may read more information about our guarantee in our puppy contract below. We require a Reserve Deposit to hold a puppy. All Deposits are non-refundable and should the Buyer change their mind about their puppy prior to taking possession of their puppy then their deposit will be valid for 2 years and held toward another puppy at a later date...

If you would like to reserve a pick from an unborn litter you may do so by sending a $200.00 deposit before they are born. This will assure that you get a good choice from an up-coming future litter of your choice.  Once the babies are born the reserve deposit is another $300.00 for a total of $500.00 reserve.  All monies paid goes toward the purchase of your new baby.  The balance is due when you pick your baby up. A litter pick is always on a first come first serve basis.  Our babies do sale very fast and most are reserved before they are ever born, especially blue males...

We ship within the Continental United States for around $450.00 until a puppy is 9 weeks of age and then the price could change depending on the weight of the puppy. Shipping prices can also be a little less depending where the puppy is shipped too.  We also ship to Canada & PR.  Those prices are a little different than shipping within the U.S. Shipping includes the airfare, a new crate, and a health certificate from our Veterinarian, plus food, blanket and 24/7 breeder support...

The puppy that you have purchased from Highlands Great Danes is guaranteed to be healthy at the time of purchase. To receive this guarantee, you must have your puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian of your choice within (3) business days of purchase. During the initial exam, if your veterinarian should find this puppy to be a poor health risk or detect any physical health problem or disease you must contact Highlands Great Danes immediately. If your puppy does not pass the initial examination, and is unable to be medically treated, then the Buyer must return the puppy to Highlands Great Danes immediately with a licensed veterinarian report of the diagnosis and all the registration paperwork. Buyer is responsible for all shipping and medical cost. Seller shall replace puppy with another puppy of equal value when one becomes available…

If at this time you decide to keep your puppy and have had the initial exam done by a licensed veterinarian within the (3) business days from the purchased date of your puppy you will then be entitled to a 2 year guarantee from the puppy’s birthday from life threatening congenital defects (heart, lungs, kidney). If puppy should suffer congenital defect that is diagnosed by a licensed veterinarian, the Buyer must contact the Seller immediately with a statement and all medical records from the veterinarian. If Buyer decides to return puppy to the Seller, then the Buyer will be entitled to another puppy of equal value when one becomes available. All shipping and medical cost shall be paid for by the Buyer. Buyer understands that a replacement puppy is only valid if the health problem is of a hereditary nature and not due to accident, environmental conditions, parasites, viral or bacterial infection, giardia, hypoglycemia, or a contagious illness such as parvo, distemper, corona virus, or coccidiosis, as these diseases are highly contagious and can be contracted immediately after leaving the Sellers property. It also does not include Hypertrophic Osteodystrophy (HOD) as this is a condition of unproper diet or allergic reaction to vaccines so Seller will not be responsible.  It also does not include (DCM) Dilated Cardiomyopathy as this can be caused by feeding a grain free diet so Seller will not be responsible...

If the disease is of a hereditary nature and the Buyer decides to keep defective puppy the Buyer must furnish the Seller proof that the puppy has been spayed or neutered against breeding. If Seller offers a replacement puppy to Buyer and Buyer refuses a replacement puppy of same equal value or better then the Buyer agrees that the replacement guarantee has been met and no other replacement puppy will be offered to the Buyer again by the Seller. Only one replacement puppy will be offered under this contract and it will be offered of the same sex, same color, and the same or better quality. This is a replacement guarantee and no monies will be refunded by Seller. If the said puppy should become ill and pass away then an autopsy is required by a licensed veterinarian and must be provided to the Seller for a replacement puppy to be considered. Buyer is responsible for any incurred cost. Buyer understands that only one replacement puppy will be offered and that Seller may not have another puppy available at the time. Buyer understands that the Seller has 12 months(1 year) to replace said puppy if Seller deems the situation warrants a replacement. Seller also has full discretion on choosing another replacement puppy…

DEPOSITS: All deposits are non-refundable and should the Buyer change their mind about their puppy prior to taking possession of their puppy then their deposit will be valid for 2 years and held toward another puppy at a later date…

FINAL PAYMENT: Highland’s Great Danes does not accept checks anymore for final payment because of prior issues with them. We will only accept checks for the reserve deposits, that way the check has plenty of lead time to clear the bank. Final payment at the time of picking up your new puppy is only accepted in cash or money order…

SHIPPING: If puppy is to be shipped then all monies due and shipping cost must be paid in full by the time the puppy is (7) seven weeks old in order for the Seller to arrange for shipping. Buyer must contact Seller by phone and e-mail within 12 hours after picking up their new baby that was shipped so that we are assured that the puppy arrived safely. If Buyer does not contact Seller within 12 hours after pick-up then all guarantees of this contract will be void. TEMPERAMENT: We do not guarantee or warranty the temperament of our puppies, as genetics and environment determine the temperament. Great Dane when they are full grown...

The Buyer agrees to keep puppy up to date on all Vaccines & Wormings. Buyer also agrees to keep puppy/dog on a heartworm and flea preventive and to feed a proper diet suited for a Great Dane throughout his/her life. Buyer agrees to never give Extra Calcium to their Great Dane puppy. Buyer also agrees to feed a diet of premium food that is not over 26% protein such as high quality Large Breed Adult. If Buyer feeds a diet of over 26% protein then it is a breach of this guarantee. Receipts need to be saved by the Buyer during the 2 year term of this contract just in case there is ever a question about the feeding guide of 26% or less protein in the puppys diet from the Seller about the Seller’s feeding guide that has been discussed with the new Buyer…

FEEDING GUIDE: Great Dane Puppies grow very rapid so they should never be given a diet with more then 26% protein. Protein that is greater than 26% in Great Dane puppies diet can cause them to develop (HOD). (HOD) is a very painful and can be crippling to the puppy as it causes severe swelling in the growth plates. High sources of Calcium and Phosphorus are also found in a high protein diet, so this is why Dane puppies should have lower Protein diets and should only be given 26% or less Protein Large Breed Adult premium food. “(Buyer) you do not want your puppy to develop (HOD) so therefore follow (Seller’s) food guidelines”…

GRAIN FREE FOOD: Do not Ever feed your Great Dane Grain Free Food as it can cause (DCM) Dilated Cardiomyopathy!  If you choose to feed Grain Free Food then this

Puppies that are for breeding will not be bred for the 1st time before they reach the age of 18 months, otherwise this is a breach of this contract. All puppies will have Highland’s at the beginning of their registered name…
